Can I have just a facelift or just a neck lift?
Absolutely. Not every patient needs both a facelift and neck lift surgery. Some patients develop more pronounced signs of aging in one area than another. Some people simply prefer to focus on one region. And some individuals would not benefit from a surgical approach. We will tailor your treatment plan to best suit your anatomic needs, your expressed cosmetic goals, and your personal preferences. We consider this process a collaborative effort, and we will guide you through from start to finish. Ultimately, of course, the final decision will be up to you.
What are the limitations of facelift and neck lift surgery?
While both of these procedures are very effective at addressing excess skin and sagging muscles, they are not as appropriate for volume loss and fine lines. If your concerns are primarily related to those matters, we can recommend other options to better suit your needs. If you have a combination of excess skin, volume loss, wrinkles, and fatty tissue, we can utilize multiple techniques to achieve inclusive rejuvenation that addresses each of these factors. By using surgical and non-surgical treatments, it’s now possible to improve a wide array of cosmetic concerns with beautiful, natural-looking results.
What will recovery after facelift/neck lift surgery be like?
Typically outpatient procedures, you should be able to return home the same day as the operation. We will provide detailed instructions for you to follow, and you should expect to take at least a week or two off from your day-to-day duties. To manage your discomfort, we will prescribe medication, although some minor soreness, tightness, and numbness is normal. These effects, as well as swelling and bruising, should fade with time. The incisions will likely be located near the temple and behind the ears, hidden within the hairline and behind natural folds of skin. The scars should become less noticeable with time as they heal, become flatter, and lose color. We recommend you avoid strenuous activity for at least four to six weeks, after which point you can return to your standard fitness regimen. Additional information will be provided as needed based on your treatment plan. Any questions that arise are always welcome, and we want to help you have the best possible recovery experience.
